Joel Carnegie is a multi-award-winning Australian storymaker, presenter, performer and musician. He has been a regular presenter on the ABC for many years, and can be found hosting Evenings on ABC Classic (Mon–Fri, 7–11pm) and appearing regularly on ABC Local Radio.
As a presenter, creator and showrunner, his story work has reached audiences worldwide through the ABC, BBC, American Public Media, CBC, Deutsche Welle, RFI and Audible, earning recognition at the New York Festivals International Radio Awards and The Whickers. He has also served as a juror for the Signal Awards (USA), Prix Europa (Europe), the New York Festivals, the Australian Podcast Awards and the ARIA Music Awards.
Joel is a story-first music director, conductor and performer who brings energy, curiosity, precision and joy to the rehearsal room and stage. His original live stage shows include: Hells Gates and the award-winning double bill Stardust + The Mission, which toured to 45 cities across Australia. He believes life’s better with music (and snacks).
